Whitney is an Investment Analyst at Chess Ag. Before joining Chess, Whitney managed the agriculture practice at global venture fund, Village Capital, where she discovered, trained and supported U.S.-based ventures from across the value chain in food and agriculture. In this capacity, she ran the country’s first and longest-running agriculture accelerator and was ranked top 3 in the world. Prior to Village Capital, Whitney worked at Earthbound Farm- the largest grower, marketer, and distributor of organic produce in the U.S. She spent four years at Earthbound, working first in product innovation and then in managing a new global fruit import department. Whitney was first drawn to agriculture while working in Tanzania for a microfinance institution, witnessing firsthand the importance of agriculture worldwide and opportunities in innovation and farming. Whitney earned a Masters of Science at UC Davis in International Agricultural Development with a specialization in Agricultural Resource Economics. She also holds a B.A. in International Relations.
