Emily joined Chess Ag in 2018. Prior to Chess Ag, she worked as a Commercial Credit Analyst for BOK Financial conducting in-depth industry and business analysis and structuring complex credits. Emily held a range of positions during her time in banking and possesses a well-rounded perspective on financial entity operations and business management.
Emily’s interest in agriculture grew out of her time as a Peace Corps volunteer when she worked with subsistence farmers and fishermen in The Philippines. Upon returning to the U.S., Emily worked on a small-scale diversified farm in northwest Missouri and later managed a farm business incubator for resettled refugees in Kansas City, Kansas.
Emily has an MBA in Finance from the University of Missouri Kansas City and holds a B.A. in Sociology and Anthropology from Truman State University. She currently serves on the Boards of the Kansas City Food Policy Coalition, Cultivate Kansas City, and the Missouri Confluence Waterkeeper.
